# Auto Provisioning Template Release History

Auto provisioning lets Cloud Voice set up a supported desk phone or cordless base station on its own: instead of typing settings into each device by hand, the phone downloads a ready-made configuration when it connects. That configuration comes from a template. Cloud Voice ships and maintains one template per phone family, and every template carries its own version number that grows as new models, features, and fixes are added.

Use the tables below to see what changed in each release and which template (the `YSDP_*` name) applies to the phones you deploy.

:::note[Terms used on this page]
- **Auto provisioning template**: the configuration blueprint a phone downloads so it sets itself up without manual entry.
- **Function key**: a programmable button on the phone that you assign to a feature (for example, Call Forward or an LDAP lookup).
- **Codec** (coder/decoder): the method used to compress call audio, such as G729 or Opus. A phone tries codecs in a set priority order until both ends agree on one.
- **LDAP** (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol): a shared, company-wide contact directory the phone can search.
- **SIP** (Session Initiation Protocol): the signaling protocol that sets up, changes, and ends calls.
- **CTI** (Computer Telephony Integration): placing or controlling calls from a computer application rather than from the handset.
- **DECT** (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications): the standard cordless handsets use to talk to their base station.
- **Expansion board**: an add-on module that gives a desk phone extra programmable keys.
- **Extension**: the internal number and account a phone registers as on the phone system.

:::tip[Check the version before you rely on a feature]
A model or feature only works once the phone is provisioned with a template at or above the version that first introduced it. If a newly supported phone model or function key is missing in the field, confirm that the deployed template version matches (or is newer than) the release listed here before troubleshooting the device itself.
:::

:::caution[Some updates change how phones behave, not just what they support]
A few releases change live behavior instead of adding a model. For example, Htek template 1.0.5 reorders codec priority (G729 moves to last), and Mitel template 1.0.10 rewrites the LDAP search filter. A phone applies these changes the next time it provisions, so the codec a call negotiates or the results a directory search returns can differ afterward. When an LDAP filter changes, make sure the attributes it searches (for example `displayName`) match what your directory server actually stores, or lookups can come back empty.
