# Change Theme Mode

Out of the box, the Cloud Voice web portal mirrors whatever theme your browser is using, flipping between light and dark automatically. If you'd rather it stay one way, you can pin the portal to a fixed light or dark appearance no matter what your browser does.

## Requirements

Your Cloud Voice system must be running firmware **84.21.0.117** or later.

On firmware older than **84.21.0.117**, the **Theme** option does not appear in the profile menu. If you cannot find it, check the system firmware version and update it before continuing.

## Set your theme

1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice web portal.
2. Open your theme options.

   a. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the page.

   b. Select **Theme** from the menu, then choose the mode you want:

   | Mode | What it does |
   | --- | --- |
   | Follow System | Matches your browser's current theme and switches with it. |
   | Light Mode | Keeps the portal in the light theme at all times. |
   | Dark Mode | Keeps the portal in the dark theme at all times. |

**Follow System** is the default. If nobody has changed this setting, the portal follows your browser and flips automatically whenever the browser does. Pick **Light Mode** or **Dark Mode** when you want the portal to stay put regardless of the browser.

## Result

Your selection applies right away, and the portal repaints in the theme you picked.

Extension users can set their own theme in the Cloud Voice App as well. This requires the Desktop App on version 1.19.3 or later, or the Mobile App on version 5.14.3 (iOS) / 5.14.4 (Android) or later. See the theme settings topic for each Cloud Voice App for the exact steps.
