# Edit an Onsite Proxy Instance

Once an Onsite Proxy instance exists, you can revisit it at any time to rename it or adjust how it handles call audio. This page walks through changing those settings.

:::note[Firmware requirement]
Editing an Onsite Proxy instance requires Cloud Voice firmware version **84.23.0.24** or later. If your system is on an older version, the Onsite Proxy options may be missing or behave differently.
:::

## Edit an instance

1. Sign in to the PBX (Private Branch Exchange) web portal and open **System > Onsite Proxy**.
2. In the Onsite Proxy list, find the instance you want to change and click the edit icon next to it.

3. Adjust the settings as needed:
   - **Rename the instance**: Under **Basic**, type a new value in the **Name** field.
   - **Turn Audio RTP Passthrough on or off**: Scroll to the **Audio RTP Passthrough** section, then select or clear the **Audio RTP Passthrough** checkbox.

     :::note[When passthrough does not apply]
     RTP (Real-time Transport Protocol) is the network stream that carries the live audio of a call. Audio RTP Passthrough does not take effect in certain call scenarios, so review the restrictions that apply to this feature before you rely on it.
     :::
4. Click **Save**, then **Apply** to commit your changes.

   :::caution
   Both actions are required. **Save** stores your edits, but they do not take effect until you click **Apply**. If you skip **Apply**, the instance keeps running with its old settings.
