# Enable or Disable the Call Flip Feature Code

Call Flip lets a user move an in-progress call from one device to another where the same extension is registered, by dialing a short feature code. As an administrator, you control whether that feature code is available on your phone system. This page shows you how to switch it on and off.

A feature code is a short dialing sequence (often a star key followed by one or two digits) that an extension user types on their phone keypad to trigger a built-in phone system function. You set and review every feature code, including the one for Call Flip, under **Call Features > Feature Code** in the Cloud Voice management portal.

## Turn on the Call Flip feature code

1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice management portal and open **Call Features > Feature Code**.
2. Find the **Call Flip** section, select its checkbox, and set the feature code you want users to dial.

   :::tip
   Pick a code that does not overlap with your extension number ranges or any other feature code. If the dialed digits match more than one thing, the phone system cannot tell which action the user means.

3. Click **Save**, then **Apply**.

   :::caution
   The change does not take effect until you click **Apply**. Clicking **Save** on its own only stores the setting; it does not push it out to the phone system.

Once applied, an extension user on an active call can dial this feature code to hand the call off to another device where the same extension is signed in. ## Turn off the Call Flip feature code

Turn the feature code off when you do not want users moving live calls between devices, for example if calls should stay on a specific desk phone.

1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice management portal and open **Call Features > Feature Code**.
2. In the **Call Flip** section, clear the checkbox.

3. Click **Save**, then **Apply**.

With the feature code disabled, users can no longer flip an active call by dialing it.
