# Manage Allowed IP Addresses

The allowed IP list is an allowlist that controls which IP (Internet Protocol) addresses and domains are permitted to reach your Cloud Voice system. Once you have added trusted entries, you will want to revise them as your network changes and clear out any you no longer need. This page covers both tasks: editing an entry and removing one or more entries.

:::note
You manage this list in the PBX (Private Branch Exchange, the phone system) web portal under **Security > Security Rules > Allowed IPs**. Each row in the list is one IP address or domain that is currently allowed through.
:::

## Edit an allowed entry

1. Sign in to the PBX web portal and open **Security > Security Rules > Allowed IPs**.
2. Find the IP address or domain you want to change and click the edit icon ![Edit](/images/pbx/edit.png) on its row.
3. Adjust the IP address or domain as needed.
4. Click **Save**.

:::caution
The change takes effect as soon as you click **Save**. If you edit the entry that covers the connection you are using right now, make sure the new value still includes your own address. Otherwise you can lock yourself out of the portal.
:::

## Remove allowed entries

1. Sign in to the PBX web portal and open **Security > Security Rules > Allowed IPs**.
2. Remove entries in either of these ways:
   - **Single entry:** Click the delete icon ![Delete](/images/pbx/delete.png) on the row, then confirm with **OK**.
   - **Multiple entries:** Select the checkbox beside each address or domain you want to drop, click **Delete**, then confirm with **OK**.

:::tip
To clear several stale entries in one pass, use the checkboxes and the bulk **Delete** button instead of removing rows one at a time.
:::

:::caution
Deleting an entry immediately stops allowing traffic from that address or domain, and there is no undo. To restore access you have to add the entry again. Do not delete the entry you are connecting through, or you may be locked out of the portal.
