# Manage Call Rate Rules

Once you have created call rate rules, you can fine-tune them over time: change the order in which they are evaluated, update the charges they apply, or clear out rules you no longer need. All of these tasks live under the **Rate** tab in your call reports.

## How rule order affects charging

For every outbound call, Cloud Voice reads the rate rules from the top of the list downward and applies the **first rule that matches** the call. Because only one rule ever charges a call, the position of a rule in the list determines whether it takes effect. Move your more specific or higher-priority rules toward the top so they are matched before broader ones.

## Reorder call rate rules

1. Sign in to the PBX (Private Branch Exchange) web portal and open **Reports and Recordings > Call Reports**.
2. Select the **Rate** tab. Use the ordering controls beside each rule to move it within the list:

   - ![Move a rule to the bottom of the list](/images/pbx/bottom.png) Move to the bottom
3. Click **Apply** to save the new order.

## Edit a call rate rule

1. Sign in to the PBX web portal and open **Reports and Recordings > Call Reports**.
2. On the **Rate** tab, click ![Edit a call rate rule](/images/pbx/edit.png) next to the rule you want to change.
3. Update the rule's settings.

   :::caution
   Any change you make to a rate applies only from that point forward. It affects the billing figures generated for new calls and does not retroactively adjust statistics for calls already recorded.

4. Click **Save**, then click **Apply**.

## Delete call rate rules

1. Sign in to the PBX web portal and open **Reports and Recordings > Call Reports**.
2. Select the **Rate** tab.
3. To remove a single rule:
   1. Click ![Delete a call rate rule](/images/pbx/delete.png) to the right of the rule.
   2. Click **OK** in the confirmation window.
4. To remove several rules at once:
   1. Select the checkbox for each rule you want to remove, then click **Delete**.
   2. Click **OK** in the confirmation window.
