# Manage Holidays

Holidays are configured per time zone so that call handling can follow special rules on the dates you specify (for example, sending callers to a closed-office greeting instead of ringing staff). Once a holiday exists, you manage it from the same place it was created: edit it when a date or destination needs to change, or delete it when it is no longer needed.

:::note
Holidays live under **Business Hours and Holidays** and are grouped by time zone. Each holiday follows the local time of the zone it belongs to, so make sure you open the correct time zone before making changes.
:::

## Edit a holiday

Edit a holiday when you need to correct its date range, rename it, or change where calls are sent while it is active.

1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice management portal and open **Call Control > Business Hours and Holidays**, then select the time zone that contains the holiday.
2. On the **Holidays** tab, choose the holiday you want to change and click the edit icon ![Edit](/images/pbx/edit.png).
3. Adjust the holiday settings as needed.
4. Click **Save**, then **Apply**.

The holiday list reflects your changes.

:::caution
**Save** records your changes, but they do not take effect until you click **Apply**, which pushes the updated configuration to the phone system. If the holiday you edited is active right now, applying the change immediately alters how incoming calls are handled.
:::

## Delete a holiday

:::tip
If you only need to shift a date or change where calls go, edit the holiday instead of deleting it. Editing keeps its history and avoids rebuilding the entry from scratch.
:::

1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice management portal and open **Call Control > Business Hours and Holidays**, then select the time zone that contains the holiday.
2. On the **Holidays** tab, choose the holiday you want to remove and click **Delete**.
3. When the confirmation dialog appears, click **OK**.

The holiday is removed from the list.

:::danger
Deleting a holiday is permanent and cannot be undone. To bring it back, you must create it again from scratch. On the dates the deleted holiday used to cover, calls will no longer follow its special routing and will fall back to your normal business-hours rules, which can mean ringing staff on a day you intended the office to be closed. The confirmation dialog is your last chance to cancel.
