# Allow the web client to use your microphone and camera

Making and receiving calls in the Cloud Voice App web client requires microphone access, and video calls also need your camera. If you dismissed the browser's permission prompt or blocked it by mistake, calls will fail until you re-enable access. Follow the steps for your browser below, then reload the tab so the change takes effect.

:::note
Permissions are set per browser and per site, so you only need to grant access once for each browser you use.
:::

## Google Chrome

How you restore access depends on whether you ever answered Chrome's original permission prompt.

### You haven't responded to the permission request yet

1. Log in to the Cloud Voice App web client.
2. Grant microphone and camera access:
   1. In the Chrome address bar, click the site information icon (![site information](/images/pbx/dangerous.png) or ![lock](/images/pbx/lock.png)).

      :::note
      The icon on the left of the address bar changes with the connection: you may see a lock on a secure (HTTPS) site or a "not secure" / info symbol otherwise. Either one opens the same site permissions menu, and it is the quickest way in without digging through the full browser settings.
      :::
   2. In the pop-up, click **Site Settings**. Chrome opens its settings page for the site.

   3. Scroll down to **Permissions**.
   4. Set both **Camera** and **Microphone** to **Allow**.
3. Return to the web client tab and click **Reload** to apply the change.

   :::caution
   Reloading the tab restarts the web client, which ends any call that is currently connected. Finish or transfer active calls before you reload.
