# Network anomaly notifications during a call

When your connection degrades in the middle of a call, the Cloud Voice App lets you know so you can react before call quality suffers. Out of the box, the app shows an on-screen alert, but you can add an audible cue if you prefer.

:::note
A "network anomaly" means the app has detected an unstable or poor-quality data connection (for example, weak Wi-Fi or mobile signal) that can cause choppy or dropped audio. The alert is informational only: it does not hang up the call, it just tells you the connection is struggling so you can move to a better signal or switch networks.
:::

## Default behavior

When the app detects a poor network connection during an active call, it displays a pop-up message directly on the call screen.

## Add a beep tone alert

If you would rather hear a tone in addition to seeing the message, change the notification style. This is useful when you are on speakerphone or holding the phone away from your face, where you might not see the on-screen pop-up.

1. On the **Call** page, tap your account in the top-left corner.
2. Open **Settings > Audio Options**.
3. Tap **Network Tip**, then choose **Pop-up and Prompt**.

:::tip
**Pop-up and Prompt** keeps the on-screen message and adds a beep tone on top of it, so you still get the visual warning. Choose this option for anyone who often works hands-free or in a noisy space.
:::

With this option selected, the app plays a beep alongside the on-screen message whenever it detects a network problem during a call.

:::note
This is a per-account setting inside the Cloud Voice App. Changing it affects only how *you* are alerted on this device; it does not change any settings for other users or for the phone system itself.
