# Will my mobile carrier charge me for outbound calls from the Cloud Voice App?

No. When you dial out from the Cloud Voice App on your mobile device, the call does not go through your cellular carrier, so it is not charged against your personal mobile plan.

Instead, the app routes the call over your phone system's trunk. A trunk is the shared connection between your phone system and the outside telephone network, and it is where your organization's calling service (and any per-minute rates) lives. The Cloud Voice platform places the call on your behalf, which means it is treated exactly like any other outbound call made through your organization's service rather than a call from your handset.

:::note
Because outbound calls travel over the app's data connection to your phone system, any usage or per-minute charges apply to your organization's account, not to your mobile number.

:::tip
The call itself is not billed by your mobile carrier, but the app still needs an internet connection to carry it. On a cellular connection that data counts toward your mobile data allowance, so connect to Wi-Fi when one is available to avoid using mobile data.
