# Enable Cloud Voice Live Chat on Your Website

Once you have generated the Live Chat code snippet in Cloud Voice, embedding it on your site lets visitors start a real-time conversation with your agents. This page explains where the snippet goes and links to step-by-step instructions for common website platforms.

## How it works

You add the Live Chat code snippet to the HTML of the page (or template) where you want chat to appear. To do this:

1. Copy the Live Chat code snippet you generated in Cloud Voice.
2. Open the HTML source of the page (or template) where you want the widget to appear.
3. Paste the snippet immediately before the closing `</body>` tag, then save and publish the change.

:::tip
Paste the snippet into a shared template (for example, your theme's footer or a site-wide layout) rather than a single page. The widget then loads on every page that uses that template, so you only maintain the code in one place.
:::

Once the snippet is in place, a chat widget appears in the bottom-right corner of the page, and visitors can use it to reach your agents.

:::note
- The widget's position is fixed in the bottom-right corner and cannot be moved.
- The widget is verified to work when visitors browse with Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox. Behavior on other browsers is not guaranteed.
