# Check and Manage Voicemails

The desktop Cloud Voice App keeps all of your voicemail messages in one place, where you can play them back, read AI transcriptions, return calls, forward messages to colleagues, and clean up your list. This page walks through each of those tasks.

## Open your voicemails

In the desktop Cloud Voice App, select **Voicemails** to open your message list.

To narrow the list, choose a read status (for example, unread only) from the filter control.

- Anything you do here stays in sync across every Cloud Voice App you're signed in to.
- A message that shows a **Forwarded from: &lt;Extension Name&gt; - &lt;Extension Number&gt;** label was sent to you by another extension. Actions you take on a forwarded copy do not change the sender's original message.

## Listen to a message

1. Point at the message you want to hear.
2. On the right, click play ![Play](/images/pbx/play-pc.png).

Playing an unread message marks it as read.

## Read or edit a transcription

Transcriptions appear only when your administrator has enabled voicemail transcription and transcription time remains available.

1. Point at the message.
2. On the right, click the transcript icon ![View transcript](/images/pbx/view-text-icon.png) or ![Transcribe](/images/pbx/ai-transcription.png). The transcribed text opens in a pop-up window.
3. For an AI-generated transcript (AI, artificial intelligence), which carries the ![AI](/images/pbx/ai-logo.png) marker, click **Edit** to make corrections.
4. Adjust the wording, then click **Save**.

5. Click **OK** to close the window.

## Return a call

You can dial the caller straight from a voicemail entry in either of these ways:

- Double-click the message.
- Point at the message and click call ![Call](/images/pbx/phone-call-1.png).

## Download a message

1. Point at the message.
2. On the right, click download ![Download](/images/pbx/download.png).

## Mark messages read or unread

To change a single message:

1. Right-click the message.
2. Choose **Mark as Read** or **Mark as unread**.

To mark several messages read at once:

1. Select the checkbox beside each message you want to update.
2. In the top menu, click **Mark as Read**.

## Forward messages to other extensions

- Forwarding requires desktop Cloud Voice App version **1.22.4** or later.
- Your copy of the message stays in your list after you forward it, so you can continue to work with it normally.

To forward one message:

1. Point at the message.
2. On the right, click forward ![Forward](/images/pbx/forward-voicemail.png).
3. In the extension list that appears, select one or more extensions.
4. Click **OK** in the lower-right corner. A **Voicemail forwarded successfully.** confirmation appears.

To forward several messages at once:

1. Select the checkbox beside each message you want to send.
2. In the top menu, click **Forward**.
3. In the extension list that appears, select one or more extensions.
4. Click **OK** in the lower-right corner. A **Voicemail forwarded successfully.** confirmation appears.

## Delete messages

:::caution
Deleting a voicemail is permanent: there is no undo. Because your voicemails sync across every Cloud Voice App you are signed in to, the message is removed everywhere, not just on this computer. Bulk delete removes every checked message at once after a single confirmation, so review your selection before you click **OK**.

To delete one message:

1. Point at the message.
2. On the right, click delete ![Delete](/images/pbx/delete.png).
3. Click **OK** to confirm.

To delete several messages at once:

1. Select the checkbox beside each message you want to remove.
2. In the top menu, click **Delete**.
3. Click **OK** to confirm.
