# Exit or End an Audio Conference

When an audio conference is underway, you can either step away from it yourself or, as the host, close it down for everyone. Which options you have depends on whether you started the call.

## Leave a conference

If something comes up and you need to drop off before the conference is over, you can leave without shutting the call down for the others.

If you are the host:

1. On the bottom toolbar, click **End Call**.
2. Choose **Leave Conference**, then click **Confirm**.

You drop out of the call, but the conference keeps running without a host. While no host is present, participants cannot invite anyone else to join.

If you turned on recording for the conference, it stops the moment you leave.
:::

If you are not the host, simply hang up to disconnect from the call.

## End a conference

Only the host can shut a conference down completely.

:::caution
**End Conference** disconnects every participant at once and cannot be undone. If you only need to step away yourself and want the call to continue, use **Leave Conference** instead (see above).

1. On the bottom toolbar, click **End Call**.
2. Choose **End Conference**, then click **Confirm**.

The conference closes for everyone, including you, and all participants are disconnected.
