# Flip an Active Call between Devices

Call Flip lets you hand an active call off from the Cloud Voice App desktop client to any other device where your extension is signed in. The switch happens mid-conversation, so neither you nor the other party notices a break.

## When to use it

Say you're on the line with a customer and need to step out of the office. Rather than end the call, you can flip it to your mobile phone and keep talking while you go. The person on the other end never hears the handoff.

## Before you start

Your extension must be registered on more than one device. Call Flip only appears when there's another endpoint to send the call to.

:::note
"Registered" means your extension is signed in on that device, such as a desk IP (Internet Protocol) phone, the Cloud Voice App on your mobile, or another desktop client. Only devices that are currently registered can receive a flipped call.
:::

## Flip the call

1. While the call is connected, click **Call Flip**. The app lists every other device where your extension is currently registered.

2. Choose the IP phone or Cloud Voice App client you want to move the call to. Cloud Voice places a call to the selected endpoint, whether that's a signed-in Cloud Voice App client or a registered IP phone.

   :::tip
   To back out of the flip, click **Cancel** in the bottom-right corner of the call screen.

   :::

3. Answer the call on the chosen device.

   :::note
   If your extension is registered on several IP phones or signed in to several Cloud Voice App clients, they all ring. Answering on any one of them stops the rest.
   :::

## Result

The call moves from the desktop client to the device you picked, and your conversation continues uninterrupted.
