# Log in to the Cloud Voice App with an Active Directory Domain Account

When your administrator connects Cloud Voice to Active Directory (AD), you can sign in to the desktop app with your AD domain account directly, without a separate set of Cloud Voice credentials.

## Before you begin

Check the following before you sign in:

- Your administrator has integrated the server with **Active Directory** and turned on **Single Sign-on (SSO)**.
- Your Cloud Voice App is running a supported version:
  - **Windows Desktop**: 1.4.9 or later
  - **Mac Desktop**: 1.4.9 or later

You also need the network details of the Cloud Voice server. Ask your administrator for them if you don't already have them.

:::note
Depending on how the server is set up, the network details are either a domain name or a set of IP addresses and ports. The sign-in steps differ slightly between the two, so confirm which one you were given.
:::

## Sign in

Open the Cloud Voice App to the login screen, then follow the steps that match the network details you received.

### Using a domain name

![Cloud Voice, login screen with the username, password, and SN/Domain fields completed for a domain-name sign-in](/images/pbx/log-in-with-ad-account-using-sn-or-domain-pc.png)

1. In the **Username** field, enter your AD domain account, using the format `username@domainname`.
2. In the **Password** field, enter the password for that account.
3. In the **SN/Domain** field (SN is the server's serial number), enter the domain name.
4. Click **Login**.

:::note
If the **SN/Domain** field is greyed out and you can't type in it, click the custom settings icon ![Custom settings icon](/images/pbx/custom-settings.png), clear **Enable Custom Settings**, and click **Confirm**. The field then becomes editable.

1. In the **Username** field, enter your AD domain account, using the format `username@domainname`.
2. In the **Password** field, enter the password for that account.
3. Click the custom settings icon ![Custom settings icon](/images/pbx/custom-settings.png).

5. Enter the IP addresses and ports for the server.
6. Click **Confirm**.

:::note
When you run the desktop app on your company's local area network (LAN), Cloud Voice connects through the local hostname or IP. When you're outside the LAN, it connects through the external hostname or IP.
