# Log in to the Desktop App Using a Login Link

Your extension is your personal line and account on the phone system (the internal number that identifies you). When an administrator sets up your extension, you receive a welcome email that includes a personal login link. Pasting this link into the Cloud Voice App is the fastest way to sign in on your desktop, since you don't have to enter a server address, username, or password by hand.

## Before you start

Make sure the Cloud Voice App welcome email has arrived in your inbox.

- If the welcome email never shows up, reach out to your system administrator.
- Each login link works only one time. Once you've signed in with it, it can't be reused. If your link has already been used or has expired, ask your administrator to send a fresh welcome email.

## Sign in with the login link

1. Open the welcome email and copy the login link it contains.

2. Launch the Cloud Voice App on your desktop and click the link icon ![Link icon](/images/pbx/link.png) in the top-right corner.

3. Paste the copied link into the field, then click **LOG IN**.

   The app reads the account details from the link and prompts you to confirm the sign-in.

4. In the pop-up window, click **Confirm**.

   The first time you sign in to the Cloud Voice App with your extension account, you're prompted to accept a privacy policy agreement and set a new password to replace the initial one. After you finish, sign in again using the password you just created.
