# Log in with a Microsoft Account

When your administrator has connected Cloud Voice to Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory), you can skip the usual credentials and sign in to the Cloud Voice App with your existing Microsoft account. This uses Single Sign-on (SSO), a setup where one identity provider (here, Microsoft) handles the login for several apps, so you sign in once with the account you already use for email and other work tools.

:::note
SSO means you do not create or manage a separate Cloud Voice password. Microsoft verifies who you are, including any multi-factor authentication (MFA) your organization requires, and then hands you back to Cloud Voice already logged in.
:::

## Before you start

Confirm the following before you attempt to sign in:

- Your administrator has linked the Cloud Voice server to **Microsoft Entra ID** and turned on **Single Sign-on (SSO)**.
- You have the SSO server address, which your administrator provides.
- Your desktop client is up to date:
  - **Cloud Voice App for Windows**: version 1.15.3 or later.
  - **Cloud Voice App for Mac**: version 1.15.3 or later.

:::caution
The Microsoft sign-in option only appears on version 1.15.3 or later of the desktop client. On an older build the Microsoft icon may be missing or fail, so update the app first if you do not see it.
:::

## Steps

1. Launch the Cloud Voice App desktop client.
2. In the **Domain** field, type the server address.

   :::note
   The Domain field expects the SSO server address from your administrator, which can differ from the address you would use for a standard username-and-password login. If sign-in fails, double-check this value with your administrator before trying again.
   :::

3. Select the Microsoft icon ![Microsoft sign-in button](/images/pbx/ms-logo.png), then authenticate with your Microsoft account.

   :::tip
   Selecting the Microsoft icon opens Microsoft's own sign-in page. Enter your Microsoft account details there (and complete MFA if prompted); Cloud Voice never sees your Microsoft password.
   :::

   Once your Microsoft sign-in succeeds, the desktop client logs you in automatically.
