# Manage Personal Voicemail Greetings

Your saved voicemail greetings are all managed from one place in the Cloud Voice App. From there you can revise an AI-generated greeting, preview any greeting, save a copy to your computer, or clear out greetings you no longer need.

Every task below starts the same way: sign in to the Cloud Voice App on your desktop, open **Preferences > Voicemail**, and in the **Voicemail Greeting** section click **Greeting Management**.

## Edit a greeting

- Only greetings created with the AI generator can be edited.
- A handful of the older synthetic-sounding voices were retired in firmware 84.20.0.128. Greetings you already produced with one of those voices still work, but they can no longer be edited.

1. Go to **Preferences > Voicemail** and click **Greeting Management**.
2. Find the AI-generated greeting you want to change and click ![edit](/images/pbx/edit-1.png) next to it.
3. Update the greeting text or change the audio settings, then save your changes.

## Play a greeting

1. Go to **Preferences > Voicemail** and click **Greeting Management**.
2. Select the greeting you want to hear and click ![play](/images/pbx/play-pc.png).
3. In the window that opens, pick how you want to listen:
   - **Play on Web**: Click ![start playback](/images/pbx/play-start.png) to hear the greeting through the Cloud Voice App itself.
   - **Play to Extension**: Hear the greeting on your desk phone instead.
   1. Choose your extension and click **Play**. Cloud Voice rings that extension.
   2. Answer the call to listen to the greeting on the phone.

:::tip
**Play to Extension** lets you hear the greeting the same way callers will, straight through the phone. Computer speakers can sound different, so use this option when you want to confirm the final result before setting a greeting live.

## Download a greeting

1. Go to **Preferences > Voicemail** and click **Greeting Management**.
2. Select the greeting you want to keep and click ![download](/images/pbx/download.png) to save the audio file to your computer.

## Delete greetings

:::caution
Deleting a greeting is permanent: there is no undo, and the audio is removed from Cloud Voice. If you might want that greeting again later, save a copy first (see [Download a greeting](#download-a-greeting)), otherwise you will have to record or generate it from scratch.

1. Go to **Preferences > Voicemail** and click **Greeting Management**.
2. Remove greetings one at a time or several at once:
   - **One greeting**: Click ![delete](/images/pbx/delete.png) beside the greeting, then confirm with **OK**.
   - **Several greetings**: Select the greetings you want to remove, click **Delete**, then confirm with **OK**.
