# Mark or Remove Favorite Contacts

Favorites give you a shortcut to the people you reach most often. When you flag a contact as a favorite in the Cloud Voice App desktop client, it is collected in a dedicated **Favorite Contacts** list so you can locate and call them quickly instead of scrolling through your full directory.

## Requirements

Favorite contacts are available in the following desktop client versions:

- **Cloud Voice App for Windows**: version 1.4.9 or later
- **Cloud Voice App for Mac**: version 1.4.9 or later

:::note
If the **Add to Favorite Contacts** option does not appear in a contact's menu, your desktop client is most likely older than version 1.4.9. Update the app first, then try again.
:::

## Mark a favorite contact

1. In the Cloud Voice App desktop client, open **Contacts**.
2. Locate the contact you want, click the more icon ![More](/images/pbx/web-client-more.png), and choose **Add to Favorite Contacts**.

:::tip
Mark the handful of people you call most often. They stay one click away in the Favorite Contacts list instead of buried in the full directory.

## Remove a favorite contact

1. In the Cloud Voice App desktop client, open **Contacts**.
2. At the top-left of the workspace, click the group icon ![Group](/images/pbx/web-group.png) and select **Favorite Contacts** from the drop-down list.

   The contact is removed from your **Favorite Contacts** list.

:::note
Removing a contact from favorites only clears the shortcut. The contact stays in your directory and you can still find and call them the usual way.
