# View Registered Extensions Only

The Cloud Voice App lists every extension in the group or department you have selected, regardless of whether that extension is currently registered. If you would rather see only the extensions that are online and reachable, adjust your display preference so unregistered ones are hidden.

:::note
An extension is *registered* when a device or app (a desk phone or the Cloud Voice App) is signed in to it and connected to the PBX (Private Branch Exchange, the phone system that routes your calls). A registered extension can send and receive calls. An unregistered extension has no device signed in, so calls to it cannot be answered on a phone right now.

## Show only registered extensions

Turning this on trims your contact list down to colleagues who are actually reachable, which makes it easier to see who you can call and get answered.

1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice App and open **Preferences > User > Status View**.
2. Clear the **Show Unregistered Extensions** checkbox.
3. Click **Save**.

:::tip
This is a personal display preference. It changes only what your own Cloud Voice App shows and does not affect the extensions themselves or what other users see. You can turn it back on at any time by reselecting the checkbox.
:::

Once saved, the contact list shows registered extensions only. Extensions that are unregistered stay hidden until you re-enable the option.
