# Grant Hotel Management Permission

Cloud Voice ships with a dedicated **Hotel Manager** role that unlocks the hotel service configuration page (**Hotel Management**). Assigning this role to one or more extension users lets front-desk colleagues help run the hotel service, so you do not have to handle every hotel task from the main administrator account.

You can grant the permission to a single extension or to several extensions at the same time. Both methods are covered below.

The **Hotel Manager** role is built into Cloud Voice, so you do not have to create it: it already appears in the **User Role** list. To assign it, you need to be signed in with an administrator account that can edit extensions. An extension is the internal line assigned to a staff member's phone or app.

## Assign the role to one user

1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice admin portal and go to **Extension and Trunk > Extension**.
2. Find the extension you want to update and click the edit icon ![Edit](/images/pbx/edit.png) next to it.
3. In the **User Information** section, open the **User Role** drop-down list and choose **Hotel Manager**. This is the step that actually grants the user access to the **Hotel Management** page.

   :::caution
   The **User Role** drop-down replaces the extension's current role. If this user already had a different role, they lose those permissions the moment you switch them to **Hotel Manager**, so double-check you are editing the correct extension before you save.

4. Click **Save**, then **Apply**.

   :::note
   **Save** stores the change, but it only takes effect once you click **Apply**. If the new permission does not seem to work, confirm that you clicked **Apply**.

## Assign the role to several users

:::tip
When several staff need the same permission, use this bulk method instead of editing each extension one by one. It is faster and guarantees every selected user gets exactly the same role.

1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice admin portal and go to **Extension and Trunk > Extension**.
2. Select the checkbox for each extension you want to update, then click **Edit**.
3. In the **User Information** section, tick **Bulk Edit** and choose **Hotel Manager** from the drop-down list.

   :::caution
   With **Bulk Edit** on, the role is applied to every extension you selected. Any previous role on those extensions is overwritten, so make sure the selection contains only the staff who should become hotel managers.

4. Click **Save**, then **Apply**.
