# Move Rooms

When a guest asks to switch rooms, front-desk staff can reassign the stay in a few steps from the Room Panel, keeping the guest's charges intact.

## Restrictions

A single guest can be moved across at most 10 rooms.

:::caution
The 10-room limit counts every move made during one stay, not just the guest's current room. Once a guest reaches 10 moves, the system will not let you reassign them again, so avoid unnecessary transfers.
:::

## Move a guest to a new room

1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice App (Desktop or Web) and open **Hotel Management > Room Panel**.

   :::note
   The Room Panel is the front-desk grid that shows every room and its current status (checked in, vacant, and so on). It is the starting point for check-ins, check-outs, and room moves.
   :::

2. Select the room the guest is currently checked into, then click the move-room icon ![Move room](/images/pbx/room-move.png).

3. In the dialog that appears, set up the transfer:

   1. From the **Change Room To** drop-down, choose the guest's new room.
   2. Under **Other Charges**, click **Add** to record any charges for the room the guest is leaving.

      :::note
      These charges follow the guest and are applied to the new room.
      :::

   3. Click **Save**.

   :::tip
   Add any outstanding charges from the current room before you click **Save**. The old stay record closes as soon as the move completes, so recording them now keeps them on the guest's final bill.
   :::

## Result

- The guest is reassigned to the new room.
- The previous stay is closed out and labeled **Room Change** in the stay history, while a fresh stay record for the new room is opened and labeled **Check In**.
