# Schedule Automatic Directory Synchronization

Out of the box, Cloud Voice runs a directory synchronization with Microsoft Entra ID once a day at 00:30. If that timing does not suit your organization, you can move the automatic sync to a window that works better for you, such as overnight or on the weekend.

## Set the synchronization schedule

1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice management portal and open **Integrations > Collaboration**.
2. Under the **Basic** section, choose how often the sync should run and the time it should start.

   :::tip
   Pick a time outside business hours, such as late evening or a weekend, so the sync runs while call and portal activity is low.
   :::

   - **Daily**: Cloud Voice syncs once each day at the local time you pick. For example, you could have it run every day at 23:59.

   - **Weekly**: Cloud Voice syncs at the chosen local time only on the days you select. For example, you could have it run at 23:59 every Saturday.

3. Select **Save**.

## What happens next

Cloud Voice now runs the synchronization automatically according to the schedule you defined.

:::note
Scheduled syncs are not the only way your directory stays up to date. The integration also triggers additional automatic syncs when changes occur in Microsoft Entra ID:

- When synced users are edited or removed, or a synced group's name or membership changes, Cloud Voice runs a directory sync within 10 minutes.
- When those same kinds of changes pile up and reach 10 change events, Cloud Voice runs the directory sync right away instead of waiting.
