# Disable Data Connector Integration

A data connector is the link that lets Cloud Voice share records (such as contacts and call activity) with an outside system, for example a CRM or an external database. When you no longer need that link, you can switch the connector off. Disabling it stops any further data exchange but leaves everything already shared in place, so this is a safe, reversible action.

:::note
PBX stands for Private Branch Exchange, the phone system that routes calls for your organization. The web portal is where you manage its settings from a browser.
:::

## Turn off the connector

1. Sign in to the PBX web portal and open **Integrations > Data Connectors**.
2. At the top of the connector page, toggle the switch to the off position.

3. When the confirmation dialog appears, select **OK**.

:::caution
Turning off the connector stops all data from flowing between Cloud Voice and the third-party system right away. New contacts, updates, and call records created after this point will not be shared until you re-enable the connector. Confirm no active process depends on the sync before you switch it off.
:::

## What happens next

- The **Status** field changes to **Disconnect**, which confirms the connector is no longer active.
- Any records that were previously synced remain in the third-party database. Disabling the connector does not erase them.

:::tip
Because disabling only pauses the sync and keeps existing data intact, you can turn the same connector back on later to resume exchanging records. There is no need to set it up again from scratch.
