# Manually Trigger Data Synchronization to a Third-party Database

A Data Connector links Cloud Voice to an outside database so records such as call logs and extension data can be copied out for reporting or other systems. By default, Cloud Voice sends the data you have selected to that linked database on a fixed schedule. When you need the latest records in place sooner, you can run a sync yourself. A manual sync captures everything created since the previous run and writes it to the database right away, without changing the regular schedule.

:::note
The schedule and the specific data types that get copied are set when the Data Connector is first configured. A manual sync uses those same settings; it only changes the timing, not what gets sent.
:::

## Run a sync on demand

1. Sign in to the PBX (Private Branch Exchange, the phone system that manages your calls and extensions) web portal and open **Integrations > Data Connectors**.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click **Update Now**.

   ![The Update Now control at the foot of the Data Connectors page](/images/pbx/manual-synchronization.png)

3. Click **OK** in the confirmation window. Cloud Voice tests the connection to the database before proceeding.
4. Click **Confirm** to start the transfer.

:::caution
Cloud Voice verifies the database connection at step 3 before any data moves. If the database is unreachable or the stored credentials are wrong, the check fails and nothing is synchronized. Confirm the connector settings are correct and try again.
:::

:::tip
Run a manual sync right after generating a batch of records you need in the other system (for example, at the end of a shift). Only data created since the last sync is sent, so the transfer stays quick rather than re-exporting everything.
:::

## Result

All data generated since the last synchronization is written to the third-party database immediately. The next scheduled sync still runs as normal.
