# Disconnect Google Workspace Integration

A directory integration links your phone system to an outside list of users (here, your Google Workspace user directory) so that accounts stay in sync. Each phone system can be tied to only one directory at a time. If you want to connect a different directory service, you must first drop the Google Workspace link that is currently in place. Follow the steps below to disconnect it.

Disconnecting stops any further syncing between Google Workspace and your phone system. Extensions and users that were already created stay in place unless you choose to delete them during the disconnect (see Step 3).

## Disconnect the integration

1. Sign in to the management portal and open **Integrations > Collaboration**.

   :::note
   The **Collaboration** area under **Integrations** is where directory links such as Google Workspace are managed. If you do not see it, confirm your account has administrator access.
   :::

2. On the Google Workspace integration page, click **Disconnect** in the upper-right corner.

3. In the confirmation dialog, choose how to handle the synced extensions, then finish:

   a. To remove the phone system extensions that were created for the synced users, select **Delete the PBX extensions in sync with the Users**. Leave the checkbox cleared to keep those extensions.

   :::danger
   Selecting **Delete the PBX extensions in sync with the Users** permanently deletes every extension that was created by the sync. Those users will lose their phone service, including the ability to place and receive calls, and the extensions cannot be recovered. If you only want to switch directory providers, leave this box cleared so the extensions remain usable.

   b. Click **Confirm**.

   :::caution
   The disconnect takes effect as soon as you click **Confirm**. There is no undo: reconnecting a directory afterward is a fresh setup, not a restore of the previous link.
   :::

## Result

The Google Workspace integration is now disconnected. You can link the phone system to a different directory when you are ready.
