# Disable LDAP Integration

LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is a standard way to read entries from a central directory server, such as a shared company address book. When the LDAP integration is on, Cloud Voice pulls those directory entries into your company contacts automatically.

If you need to stop that sync, you can switch off the LDAP integration in Cloud Voice whenever you like. Turning it off pauses the connection but leaves every setting in place, so you can bring it back later without re-entering anything.

## Turn off the integration

1. Open the LDAP settings:
   1. Sign in to the PBX web portal and go to **Contacts > Company Contacts**.
   2. Select **Synchronize Contacts** near the top of the page.

   3. Open the **LDAP** tab.

   :::note
   The **Synchronize Contacts** screen is where every directory integration lives. Make sure you are on the **LDAP** tab before you change anything, so you do not disable a different integration by mistake.
   :::

2. Clear the **Enable LDAP Integration** checkbox.

   :::caution
   Once you save this change, Company Contacts stops pulling updates from your LDAP directory. Entries that already synced stay in the list, but new or changed directory entries will not appear until you turn the integration back on.
   :::

3. Select **Save**.

## What happens next

- The **Status** field changes to **Disabled**. Check it on the **LDAP** tab to confirm the change took effect.
- Your LDAP configuration stays saved. The next time you enable the integration, it reconnects with the same settings.

:::tip
Because your settings are retained, disabling is a safe, reversible way to pause syncing. Use it instead of removing the integration whenever you plan to turn LDAP back on later.
