# Disable LDAP Integration

When you need to stop syncing directory contacts for a while, you can switch off the LDAP integration in Cloud Voice. Turning it off pauses the sync without erasing anything, so you can bring it back later without re-entering your settings.

:::note
LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is a standard way for systems to look up people and contact details from a central directory server. In Cloud Voice, the LDAP integration pulls those directory entries into your shared Company Contacts so users can see and dial them.
:::

## Turn off the integration

1. Open the LDAP settings:
   1. Sign in to the PBX web portal and go to **Contacts > Company Contacts**.
   2. At the top of the page, select **Synchronize Contacts**.

   3. Open the **LDAP** tab.

2. Clear the **Enable LDAP Integration** option.

   :::caution
   Once disabled, contacts stop synchronizing. Any people added, changed, or removed on the directory server will no longer flow through to Company Contacts until you turn the integration back on.
   :::
3. Select **Save**.

## What happens next

- The **Status** field changes to **Disabled**.
- Your LDAP settings stay in place. The next time you enable the integration, they are ready to use as-is.

:::tip
Because the configuration is retained, disabling is the safe way to pause a sync. You do not need to write down your server address, credentials, or field mappings first: re-enabling later takes a single toggle.
