# Disable Microsoft SQL Integration

When you need to stop syncing company contacts from your Microsoft SQL database, you can switch the integration off. Cloud Voice keeps the connection settings intact, so you can turn it back on later without re-entering anything.

:::note
Microsoft SQL integration links Cloud Voice to a Microsoft SQL Server database (SQL stands for Structured Query Language, the standard language for querying databases) so that company contacts stored there flow into your phone system's directory. Disabling it pauses that sync without deleting the connection details.
:::

## Turn off the integration

1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice management portal and open **Contacts > Company Contacts**.
2. From the toolbar at the top of the page, select **Synchronize Contacts**.

3. Clear the **Enable Microsoft SQL Integration** toggle.

   :::caution
   While the integration is off, Cloud Voice stops pulling contact updates from the Microsoft SQL database. Any additions or changes made in the database will not appear under Company Contacts until you enable the integration again.
   :::

4. Select **Save**.

## What happens next

- The **Status** field changes to **Disabled**.
- Your Microsoft SQL settings are preserved. The next time you enable the integration, the saved configuration is applied immediately, with no need to set it up again.

:::tip
Because the configuration is retained, re-enabling the integration later is a single toggle. There is no need to re-enter the connection details, so this is a safe way to pause syncing during database maintenance and resume it afterward.
