# Set up Call Journal to Odoo CRM

Call Journal keeps Odoo CRM (Customer Relationship Management) up to date without any manual effort. Once it is switched on, Cloud Voice writes a call log to Odoo each time an associated user wraps up a call with a CRM contact, so the record of who called whom and when lives alongside the rest of your customer data.

## Before you begin

Make sure Cloud Voice is already [connected to Odoo CRM](/pbx/integrations/odoo/integrate-cloud-voice-with-odoo-crm/). Call Journal builds on that integration and cannot be configured until it is in place.

## Turn on and configure Call Journal

1. Sign in to the PBX (Private Branch Exchange) web portal and open **Integrations > CRM**.
2. On the CRM integration page, enable **Call Journal**.
3. Decide what each logged call should say by filling in the call log fields:

   ![Call log fields for the subject and description that Cloud Voice writes to Odoo](/images/pbx/call-log-content.png)

   - **Subject**: The title given to the call log entry.
   - **Description**: The body text of the call log entry.

   :::note
   Both fields accept variables, so you can build entries that pull in details from each call automatically rather than typing static text.
   :::

4. (Optional) Select **Disable Display Missed Call Records in Unanswered Agents** if you want to trim redundant entries. With this option selected, calls to a queue or ring group are logged only to the CRM of the agent who actually answered. Agents who did not pick up the call will not have a missed-call entry written for it.

   :::tip
   Leave this on for busy queues and ring groups. Without it, a single inbound call can create a missed-call log for every agent who was rung, which quickly clutters the CRM.
   :::

5. Click **Save**.

## Result

From now on, whenever an associated user ends a call with a CRM contact, Cloud Voice pushes a matching call log into Odoo using the subject and description you defined.
