# Check and Manage Voicemails

The Cloud Voice App keeps all of your voicemails in one place on your phone, so you can play them back, read a transcript, mark them read or unread, pass them along to a colleague, or clear them out. This page walks through each of those actions.

## Open your voicemail list

On the Cloud Voice App, tap **Calls**, then open the **Voicemail** tab.

When you have messages you have not listened to yet, a badge on the **Voicemail** tab shows how many unread voicemails are waiting.

## Filter by read status

To narrow the list, tap the filter control in the top-left corner and choose a read status. This is helpful when you only want to see new messages or review ones you have already heard.

## Work with a voicemail

From the list you can play a message, read and edit its transcript, change whether it is marked read, forward it, or delete it.

- Anything you change here syncs across all of your Cloud Voice App sessions.
- A message tagged **Forwarded from: &lt;Extension Name&gt; - &lt;Extension Number&gt;** was sent to you by another extension. Actions you take on the forwarded copy do not change the original message on that extension.

### Play a voicemail

Tap ![Play](/images/pbx/play.png) next to the message to listen to it. Playing an unread voicemail marks it as read.

For a group voicemail, tap ![Details](/images/pbx/information.png) to see which of the other group members have already listened to the message.

### View and edit a transcript

:::note
Transcripts are available only when your administrator has enabled voicemail transcription on the phone system and transcription time is still available.

1. Tap the voicemail you want to read.
2. In the panel that expands, tap ![Transcribe](/images/pbx/transcription.png). The transcribed text appears in the text box beneath the message, and an unread voicemail is marked as read.

3. To correct the transcript, tap ![Edit](/images/pbx/edit-web-fill.png) and make your changes.
4. Tap **Save** in the top-right corner.

### Change the read status

1. Press and hold the voicemail you want to update.
2. In the pop-up menu, tap **Unread** or **Read**. Unread messages carry a red dot (![Unread indicator](/images/pbx/unread.png)); read messages appear grayed out.

### Forward a voicemail

Forwarding requires a recent app version:

- **iOS**: version 5.25.15 or later
- **Android**: version 5.25.14 or later
:::

1. Press and hold the voicemail you want to send.
2. In the pop-up menu, tap **Forward**.
3. From the extension list, choose one or more recipients.
4. Tap **OK** at the bottom. A "Voicemail forwarded successfully." confirmation appears. Your copy stays in your voicemail list, and you can keep managing it as usual.

### Delete a voicemail

:::danger
Deleting a voicemail removes it. Because your changes sync across all Cloud Voice App sessions, the message is cleared from every device, not just this one. Confirm you have selected the right message before you tap **Delete**.

1. Press and hold the voicemail you want to remove.
2. In the pop-up menu, tap **Delete**.
