# Remove an Internal Chat from Your Chat List

When your chat list gets crowded, you can take an internal conversation off it without deleting anything permanently. This is handy for tidying up chats you no longer need to see at a glance.

## Remove a chat

1. Open the Cloud Voice App on your mobile device and go to **Chat > Internal Chat**.
2. Press and hold the conversation you want to clear.
3. When the menu appears, tap **Delete the chat**.

"Internal Chat" is the tab for messages between colleagues on the same phone system (extension to extension). It is separate from SMS conversations with outside phone numbers, so clearing an internal chat here does not touch any text-message threads.

## What happens

The conversation no longer shows in your chat list on the Cloud Voice App.

Despite the **Delete the chat** wording, this only hides the conversation from your list; the message history is kept. To bring it back, search for the contact's name or for any text from the conversation.
