# Clear Internal Chat History

Internal chat is the private messaging feature you use to message colleagues on the same phone system from the Cloud Voice App. The messages you send and receive are saved on the phone itself, and they stay available in the app until you clear them. Use the steps below when you want to wipe the message history for a single conversation, for example to remove a sensitive thread or tidy up a busy chat list.

The chat history is stored on your phone and remains available until you clear it. Clearing a conversation removes its messages from the Cloud Voice App on this device.

## Clear the history of a chat

1. In the Cloud Voice App, open **Chat** and select **Internal Chat**.
2. Open the conversation you want to clear, then tap the more options icon ![More options](/images/pbx/more-horiz.png) in the top-right corner.
3. On the **Chat Information** screen, tap **Clear Chat History**.
4. In the confirmation dialog, tap **OK**.

There is no undo. Once you tap **OK**, the messages in that conversation are permanently deleted from this device and cannot be recovered.

The conversation's message history is removed from the Cloud Voice App on your device.

This clears only the conversation you opened, not every chat. To clear more than one, repeat the steps for each conversation.
