# Mark or Remove Favorite Contacts

Flagging a contact as a favorite pins them to a dedicated list, so the people you reach out to most often are always a tap away. This page walks through adding and removing favorites in the Cloud Voice App on your phone.

## Before you begin

Make sure your Cloud Voice App is up to date. This feature is only available on these versions or later:

- **iOS**: version 5.4.4 or later
- **Android**: version 5.4.9 or later

To check your version, open the app's settings or profile menu and look for the "About" or version number. If you are running an older build, update the Cloud Voice App from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) before continuing.

## Add a contact to your favorites

1. In the Cloud Voice App, open **Directory > Contacts**.
2. Locate the person you want to save, then flag them:

   a. Tap the contact's name.
   b. On the **Contact Details** page, tap ![Add to favorites icon](/images/pbx/fav-add-icon.png) next to their name.

The contact now appears in your **Favorite Contacts** list.

:::tip
Mark the people you call every day (your manager, your team, key clients) so you can reach them without scrolling through the full directory. There is no limit that requires you to keep the list short, but a small, focused list is the fastest to use.

## Remove a contact from your favorites

1. In the Cloud Voice App, open **Directory > Contacts**.
2. In the top-left corner, switch to **Favorite Contacts**.

3. Tap the contact you want to drop, then tap ![Remove from favorites icon](/images/pbx/fav-remove-icon.png) next to their name.

The contact is removed from your **Favorite Contacts** list.

Removing a favorite only takes the contact off this shortcut list. It does not delete the person from your directory or change their details, so you can find them again under **Directory > Contacts** and mark them as a favorite whenever you like.
