# Switch Audio Device During a Call

When more than one audio device is paired with your phone, such as a Bluetooth headset alongside the built-in speaker and earpiece, the Cloud Voice App lets you move a live call from one to another. The switch happens mid-conversation, so the call stays connected the whole time. This is handy when you start a call on speaker and then want privacy, or when you walk away from a wired headset and need to keep talking.

:::note
An audio device is anything your phone can route call audio through: a Bluetooth headset or earbuds, wired headphones, the phone's built-in earpiece, or the speakerphone. Bluetooth is the short-range wireless standard most cordless headsets use to connect to a phone.

## Before you start

Make sure at least one audio device is connected to your mobile phone.

:::tip
Pair or plug in the headset before you tap the audio icon. Only devices that are already connected appear in the list, so connecting it first saves you from leaving the call screen to fix it.
:::

## Change the output during a call

1. While a call is active, tap the audio ![Audio output icon](/images/pbx/volume.png) icon on the call screen.

   :::note
   The audio icon sits on the in-call screen. Tapping it opens a short list of every audio device currently available to your phone.

2. Choose the device you want to use.

The audio moves to your selection right away, and you can keep talking through the new device.
