# Upgrade the Cloud Voice App on Android

Keeping the Cloud Voice App up to date gives you the newest features and fixes. Whenever a newer release becomes available, the app lets you know with a pop-up that summarizes what changed in that version. That reminder appears once a day until you upgrade, and you can install the update right away or wait. If you dismiss it, you can start the upgrade yourself at any time using the steps below.

:::note
These instructions apply only to the Android version of the Cloud Voice App. On an iPhone or iPad (iOS), update the app through the Apple App Store instead. There is no in-app upgrade option on iOS.
:::

:::tip
There is no need to wait for the daily pop-up. You can check for and install an update whenever it is convenient, for example at the start of a shift or during a quiet period.
:::

## Upgrade the app

1. Open the **Calls** page and tap your account in the top-left corner.
2. Go to **Settings** > **About** > **Upgrade**.

   A pop-up appears listing what's new in the latest version.

   :::note
   If the **Upgrade** option reports that you are already on the latest version, no action is needed. The option only offers an update when a newer release exists.
   :::

3. Tap **Update Now** to begin downloading the new installation package (an APK, the Android Package Kit file used to install Android apps).
4. Open the downloaded package and follow the prompts to install it.

   :::caution
   Because this update installs directly from the app rather than through the Google Play Store, Android may ask you to allow installing apps from this source the first time you do it. If you see that prompt, grant the permission, then return and finish the install. Keep the app open and stay connected until the download completes, since interrupting it means you will need to start the download again.
   :::

   Once installation finishes, your Cloud Voice App is on the latest version.
