# Place a Call to a Group Member

The Operator Panel lets you reach a group member in seconds, without leaving the console or dialing a number by hand. This topic walks through starting that call.

## Procedure

1. In the **Extension** panel, move your pointer over the group member you want to reach.

   The **Extension** panel is the list of extensions shown on the Operator Panel. Group members appear here, so you do not need to know or type their extension number to call them.
   :::

2. Double-click that member.

   A call window opens, giving you the controls you need to handle the conversation once it connects.
