# Release History This page lists the firmware releases for your Cloud Voice phone system, organized by year and ordered with the most recent build first. Use it to see when a build shipped and to open the release note for any build that has one. :::note Firmware is the built-in software that runs your Cloud Voice phone system. Each release updates that software with new features, improvements, and fixes. Select a linked version to open its full release note, which describes exactly what changed in that build. ::: ## How to read a release entry Before you browse the tables below, it helps to know what each field means. **Release Date**: The day the firmware build was published. **Release Version**: The version label together with its release stage. Cloud Voice ships builds in two stages: - **V{version}-Beta**: An early (pre-release) build that introduces new features and improvements. It is intended for early adopters who want to try the latest capabilities ahead of the general release. - **V{version}-GA**: The finalized build, validated and ready for use in a production environment. In these labels, `V{version}` is the version number written in the format `VXX.X` (for example, `V22.3`). `Beta` marks a build that is available for testing and evaluation, while `GA` (General Availability) marks a build that is fully validated for general use. :::caution Beta builds are for testing and evaluation only. Do not install a Beta build on a production system that is handling live calls, because early builds can behave unpredictably. For everyday service, always choose a GA build. ::: :::tip When you upgrade a customer's system, pick the newest GA build unless you are deliberately testing a specific Beta feature. ::: **Firmware Version**: The firmware build number, written in the format `84.X.X.X` (for example, `84.21.0.117`). **Base Version**: The earlier version that the current release is built on. :::note The Base Version tells you which build the release was assembled from.
