# Add a Fax Cover Page

A fax cover page is the first sheet that goes out ahead of your fax content. It usually carries details such as who the fax is from, who it is for, and a short note about what follows. In the Cloud Voice App you can build your own cover pages once and reuse them every time you send a fax, so you do not have to rebuild the header by hand.

## Before you start

- Your system administrator must have granted you permission to send faxes.
- You can create up to **10** custom cover pages of your own.

## Prepare the cover page file

Have the cover page ready as a file before you begin. It must meet these requirements:

- **Format**: PDF (Portable Document Format, a `.pdf` file)
- **Size**: under 5 MB

:::tip
If you want a starting point, design your layout in a word processor, then export or save the finished document as a PDF before you upload it.
:::

:::caution
The upload accepts a PDF only, and the file must be under 5 MB. Any other file type or a larger file will be rejected, so convert your document and check its size before you upload.
:::

## Create a cover page

1. Open the creation page.

   a. Sign in to the Cloud Voice App and go to **Fax Management > Cover Pages**. Any cover pages your administrator has already set up appear in the list.

   b. Click **Add** to start a new custom cover page.

   :::note
   The list may already include cover pages your administrator set up as shared defaults. You can pick one of those when sending a fax, so build your own only when you need a different layout.
   :::

2. Fill in the cover page details.

   | Remark | A brief description for your own reference. |
   | Cover Page File | Click **Upload** and select your PDF file. |

3. Click **Save**.

## Result

- The cover page is now available to choose whenever you send an outbound fax from the Cloud Voice App.

:::tip
Preview a new cover page before you use it on a real fax, so you can confirm the sender, recipient, and message fields render correctly in the finished PDF.
