# Continue an Active Call on the Cloud Voice App Web Client

Call Switch lets you take over a call that is already in progress on another device where your extension is signed in, and carry on the conversation in the Cloud Voice App Web Client. The handover happens mid-call, so the person on the other end hears no interruption.

A typical use: you pick up a customer's call on your mobile while you're out, and you'd rather finish it hands-free once you're back at your desk. Instead of hanging up and calling back, you move the live call to the Web Client and keep talking.

## Before you begin

Call Switch works only when your extension is active in more than one place at once, so confirm the following:

- Your extension is registered on at least two devices (for example, a desk phone or mobile app in addition to the Web Client).
- The Cloud Voice App is running in Web Client mode, so calls are handled in the browser.

- There is a call already connected on one of your other devices.

:::note
Call Switch depends on a recent version of your phone system. If you don't see the control described below, ask your administrator whether the feature is available on your account.

## Move the call to the Web Client

:::tip
The Call Switch control only shows up while a call is live on one of your other devices. If you don't see it, there is no active call to pull in yet.
:::

1. At the top of the Cloud Voice App Web Client, select **Call Switch**. The call currently active on your other device is listed.
2. Select the call.

:::caution
The switch moves the live audio to your computer, so the call no longer plays through the original device. Have your headset or microphone ready in the browser before you switch, or you may not be able to hear or be heard once the handover completes.
:::

The call is pulled from the original device to the Web Client, and you continue the conversation there.
