# Make a Video Call

Video calls let you see and talk to a coworker or any contact saved in your **Contacts**. You can launch one from the dialpad or straight from your Extensions list.

## Before you start

- Confirm that your setup meets the [requirements for web calling](/pbx/web-client-user-guide/web-call-overview/#web-call-overview__section_qd1_1gc_14b).
- Make sure your [audio and video devices are configured](/pbx/web-client-user-guide/configure-audio-and-video/) and working.

## Call from the dialpad

1. Enter the number you want to reach using either method below:
   - Type the number into the search bar at the top of the window.

     :::tip
     The search bar also accepts a name, an email address, or a company name.
     :::
   - Click the keypad icon ![Keypad](/images/pbx/keypad.png) and key in the number.
2. Click the HD (high definition) video icon ![HD audio and video](/images/pbx/hd-audio-and-video.png) to dial.

Your camera turns on automatically as soon as you place the call, so be ready to appear on video. Once the other person answers, you can see each other.

:::note
If the person you are calling cannot receive video, or has it turned off, the call connects as an audio-only call when they answer.
:::

## Call from the Extensions list

1. In the left navigation bar, click **Extensions**.
2. Locate the colleague you want to reach:
   1. Open the group drop-down ![Group](/images/pbx/web-group.png) and choose the group that person belongs to.
   2. In the search bar, type a name, number, or email address.
