# Make an Audio Call

The Cloud Voice App Web Client gives you several starting points for placing an audio call, whether you are reaching a coworker or an outside number. Pick whichever entry point is most convenient: type a number on the dialpad, or call directly from a list you are already looking at, such as your extensions, contacts, call history, voicemails, or recordings.

:::note
A web call is placed straight from your browser through the Web Client, so you do not need a physical desk phone or a separate app to make it. Every method on this page starts a web call.
:::

## Before you begin

- Confirm that your setup meets the [requirements for making web calls](/pbx/web-client-user-guide/web-call-overview/#web-call-overview__section_qd1_1gc_14b).
- Make sure your [audio devices are configured](/pbx/web-client-user-guide/configure-audio-and-video/) and ready to use.

## Call from the dialpad

### Dial a number

1. Enter the number using either method:

   - Type it into the search bar at the top of the window.

     :::tip
     For a coworker or an outside contact saved in your **Contacts**, you can search by name, email address, or company name instead of typing the number.
     :::

   - Click the keypad icon ![Dialpad keypad](/images/pbx/keypad.png), then enter the number.

2. Press `Enter`, or click the call icon ![Place call](/images/pbx/call.png), to dial out.

   :::tip
   If the person or contact you are calling is saved in your **Contacts**, you can also click their matching contact card to place the call.
   :::

### Redial the last number

1. With the search bar empty, click the call icon ![Place call](/images/pbx/call.png).

   **Call Mobile** dials the mobile number saved on the coworker's profile instead of their extension, which is useful when they are away from their desk. It appears only when a mobile number is on file for that coworker.
