# Manage Personal Voicemail Greetings

Your personal greetings live in the Cloud Voice App, where you can revise their wording, listen to them before they go live, save a local copy, or clear out the ones you no longer need. Each of the tasks below starts from the same place: after signing in to the Cloud Voice App, open **Preferences > Voicemail**, then click **Greeting Management** in the **Voicemail Greeting** section.

## Edit a greeting

Editing is available only for greetings that were generated with AI. Older greetings built from robotic-sounding voices that have since been retired will still play for your callers, but they can no longer be modified.

1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice App and go to **Preferences > Voicemail**.
2. In the **Voicemail Greeting** section, click **Greeting Management**.
3. Find the AI-generated greeting you want to change and click the edit icon ![Edit](/images/pbx/edit-1.png) next to it. From there you can rewrite the greeting text or fine-tune its audio settings.

## Play a greeting

1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice App and go to **Preferences > Voicemail**.
2. In the **Voicemail Greeting** section, click **Greeting Management**.
3. Locate the greeting you want to hear and click the play icon ![Play](/images/pbx/play-on-page.png).
4. In the window that opens, pick where to listen:
   - **Play on Web**: click the start icon ![Start playback](/images/pbx/play-start.png) to hear the greeting right in your browser.
   - **Play to Extension**: hear the greeting on your desk phone:
   1. Choose your extension and click **Play**. Cloud Voice rings that extension.
   2. Answer the call to listen to the greeting on the phone.

:::tip
Use **Play to Extension** to check the greeting through a real phone speaker. It is closer to what your callers actually hear than browser playback.

## Download a greeting

1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice App and go to **Preferences > Voicemail**.
2. In the **Voicemail Greeting** section, click **Greeting Management**.
3. Select the greeting you want to save and click the download icon ![Download](/images/pbx/download.png).

## Delete greetings

:::caution
Deleting a greeting is permanent, and the Cloud Voice App keeps no backup. Download anything you might want later before you remove it. If you delete the greeting callers currently hear, voicemail falls back to the system default greeting until you record or select a new one. A deletion is not saved until you click **Apply**.

1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice App and go to **Preferences > Voicemail**.
2. In the **Voicemail Greeting** section, click **Greeting Management**.
3. To remove a single greeting:
   1. Click the delete icon ![Delete](/images/pbx/delete.png) next to it.
   2. Click **OK**, then **Apply**.
4. To remove several greetings at once:
   1. Select the checkbox for each greeting you want to remove, then click **Delete**.
   2. Click **OK**, then **Apply**.
