# Set up Email Notifications for Missed Calls

Enable missed-call alerts and Cloud Voice will email you each time an incoming call goes unanswered, so you can follow up even when you were away from your desk.

## Before you begin

Your extension needs a valid email address on file, since that inbox is where the alerts are delivered. If you haven't added one yet, see [Configure your extension profile](/pbx/web-client-user-guide/configure-your-extension-profile/).

:::caution
If your extension has no email address saved, there is nowhere for Cloud Voice to send the alert, so no notification will arrive even after you turn the feature on. Confirm the email address first, then enable the setting.
:::

## Turn on missed-call alerts

1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice App and open **Preferences > Features**.
2. Under **Notifications**, tick **Send email notifications on missed calls**.
3. Click **Save**.

:::note
**Preferences > Features** holds the personal notification options for your own extension, so this switch controls alerts for your account only. It does not change settings for other users.
:::

## What happens next

From now on, any time you miss a call, Cloud Voice sends an alert to the email address configured on your extension.

:::tip
If the setting is on but the alerts never appear, check your junk or spam folder before reporting a problem. Missed-call emails are automated messages and can be filtered by some mail providers.
