Reformat Inbound Caller ID based on a Trunk

This topic describes how to reformat inbound caller ID and gives configuration examples to help you understand the reformatting rule.

Background Information

If an inbound caller ID is in a format that is inconvenient for users to read directly, you can reformat the inbound caller ID. Reformatting rules are used to adjust incoming caller IDs to show as desired. You can utilize the inbound caller ID reformatting feature for modifications.

Add a Rule to Reformat Inbound Caller ID

  1. Log in to PBX web portal, go to Extension and Trunk > Trunk. Edit the desired trunk.
  2. Click Inbound Caller ID Reformatting Rule tab.
  3. Click Add button.
  4. In the pop-up window, configure the reformatting rule and click Confirm.
  • Patterns: Enter the inbound caller ID pattern matching rule.
  • Strip: Specify how many leading digits to strip.
  • Prepend: Specify leading digits to prepend.

Strip and Prepend are configured; the system will first strip the leading digits and then prepend the digits to the inbound caller ID.
