You can set distinctive ringtones on the PBX or external inbound routes. When an extension user hears the ringtone of an external incoming call, the user may notice the intention of the call.

Procedure

  1. Set alert info for external calls on the PBX
  2. Set a specific ringtone for a phone

Set Alert Info for External Calls on the PBX

  1. Log in to IZT Cloud Voice web portal, go to Call Control > Inbound Route. Edit the desired inbound route.
  2. In the General section, enter the "alert info text" for specifying ringtones for external inbound calls.

  1. Click Save and Apply.

Set a Specific Ringtone for a Phone

For users who want to apply a specific ringtone for internal calls on their phones, you can set a specific ringtone for their phones by auto provisioning.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure the user’s extension is bound with a phone.
  • To be set for users with distinctive ringtone from the user's extension.

Procedure

  1. Set distinctive ringtones for a user:
  2. Log in to PBX web portal, go to Extension and Trunk > Extension, edit the user's extension.
  3. In the General section, click the boxes:
  • Distinctive Ringtone
  1. In the dropdown, select "External" and click Add.
  2. In the field, enter the "alert info" pre-defined for external calls.
  • In this example, select "External".

  1. Click Save.
  2. Reprovision the phone to take effect.
  3. Go to Auto Provision > Phones.
  4. Click beside the phone assigned to the user’s extension.

Result

The user's phone rings Ring2.wav when receiving external calls from a specific inbound route.
