π Monitor Voicemail Status on an IP Phone
This topic describes how to monitor voicemail status on an IP phone by function keys.
Background Information
You can use function keys to monitor voicemail status, including your voicemail, other users' voicemails, or group voicemails.
Ensure that each end user has function keys configured correctly on their IP phones. For more information, refer to the phone manufacturer's documentation.
Procedure
- Assign function keys to monitor voicemail status:
- Log in to PBX web portal, go to Extension and Trunk > Extensions, edit the desired extension.
- Click Function Keys tab.
- Configure the function key settings as needed.
- Configure Function Keys:
- Type: Program the voicemail key that you want to use.
- To monitor extension voicemail, select Check Voicemail.
- To monitor group voicemail, select Check Group Voicemail.
- Value: Select the extension voicemail or group voicemail you want to monitor.
- Click Save to apply the settings.
- The user's IP phone will now show the status of the voicemail messages with a visual indicator (e.g., LED light).
Result
- The function keys will show the status of voicemail messages as configured.
- The LED status indicator on the function key will display the status of new voicemail messages.
Ensure the function key lights up or shows a status indicator. Verify other IP phone settings if necessary.
