π Ring Group Overview
Ring groups are a feature to share the distribution of incoming calls among employees. This topic describes what a ring group is, ring strategy, failover destination, and missed call alerts.
What is a ring group?
Ring groups allow you to merge multiple extension numbers into a virtual number. The customers can dial the virtual number, and the calls ring through to all group members at once, instead of reaching one person or being routed to voicemail. This setup helps support multiple departments such as Sales, Support, and Accounting.
Ring Strategy
Ring Strategy
When ringing multiple extensions:
Ring Strategy | Description |
---|---|
Ring All | Delivers to all extensions, once someone answers, routing stops. |
Least Used | Directs least-used extensions. |
Cyclic | Cyclic forwarding within routing cycles. |
Failover Destination
When a call arrives and no one is available, the call can be routed to a destination. Commonly used destinations:
- Voicemail
- Transfer Queue options
- Off-hours routing ensuring valid setup handled.
Missed Call Alerts
Missed call alerts are supported, notifying members about missed calls: Ensure email settings updated.
