πŸ“² Allow Callers to Dial Outbound Calls via IVR

This topic describes how to allow callers to dial outbound calls in an IVR.

Background Information

Dialing outbound calls via an IVR is useful when you interconnect two PBXs between headquarters and branch or only set an IVR on headquarters PBX. You can allow the customers to dial the headquarters' extension number to contact the employees or departments in the branch directly.

Prerequisites

  • Set up the appropriate outbound route and inbound route on the two interconnected PBXs.
  • Upload or record the IVR prompt that would instruct customers to dial a headquarters extension number.

Procedure

  1. Log in to PBX web portal, go to Call Features > IVR, edit the desired IVR.
  2. In the Prompt drop-down list, select the IVR prompt to use.
  3. Enable the checkbox of Dial outbound routes.
  4. Select the checkboxes of the available outbound routes in the Select box.
  5. Click Save and Apply.

Update your IVR prompt that would instruct callers to dial a number to external outbound routes.
