📞 Pick up a Call for a Group Member

This topic describes how to set up a Feature key on an IP phone to pick up a call for an extension group member.

Background Information

If the phones are set up to pick up a call for an extension group member, you can set the feature key for each key by auto provisioning. Users can use it to monitor extension calls, including monitoring group members:

• The default feature code for picking up a group member’s call is *8.
• Verify Call Features configurations as necessary.

Set up a Feature Key

To assign the function keys for group call pickup settings:

1. Log in to the PBX web portal, go to Extension and Trunk > Extension, edit the desired extension.

2. Click the Function Keys tab.

3. Configure the function keys:

   • The number of programmable keys varies by phone models. If the number of function keys you assign to an extension exceeds the number of programmable keys, the redundant function keys won't appear.
   • Type: Select Speed Dial.
   • Value: Enter the value *8.

4. Click Save and Apply.

Result

When the extension has been associated with a phone, use Auto Provision IP Phones to bind it with the extension. When the call is picked up, other IP phones of all users press the feature key directly to answer the call.
